Just like all the rest of the women around the world, Arab women in science face many more obstacles than their male colleagues. However, what is most intriguing is that in the middle east, the number of women studying science subjects overreaches that of the men’s but then those women are not as present in the scientific labour force. Despite that, some Arab women have shown that those obstacles can be defeated and have achieved significant and influential success in science.
So the question remains; What makes Arab women hesitant from entering the STEM labour force and competing for research roles?
